Wes is really only useful if you want a challenge. He gets hungry faster than any other. The objective of Don't Starve Together is pretty much right in the name. You and your friends are in a world where darkness is your worst enemy and your daily goal is to find enough to eat, while you work to build a base camp and fight to survive against Monsters.
Introduction
There are many characters in Don’t Starve Together. You probably already know about that.
However, you may not know all of the combos you can make with each one of them. That’s why I created that guide, to present you the ultimate combo list.
Little Combos
Those are the combos that are not THAT amazing, but still, very good and reliable. You shouldn’t underestimate them.Wurt and Wigfrid
It’s that simple: Wigfrid eats the meat, Wurt eats the veggies. Also, Wigfrid can help Wurt getting Tentacle Spots and maybe, possibly Wigfrid can give her helmets to the Merms, although i wouldn’t recommend that. That’s it. Not a big deal, but a combo nonetheless.
Wilson and Willow
Very beginner-friendly characters. This combo consists of one character helping the other survive a specific season. Wilson thrives in Winter with his beard, but Willow struggles Winter because she freezes faster and she gets less insulation from equipped items. Knowing that, Willow should have priority getting insulation, while Wilson can still keep a decent insulation level even with little to no winter gear.
In Summer, things change. Willow is immune to fire, gets sanity while near heat, overheats slower than other characters, can extinguish smoldering fires faster, and she takes less damage from overheating. Knowing that, Willow can help Wilson to survive.
Also, Willow can craft Bernie more easily because of the beard hair Wilson drops when shaving his beard.
Wendy and Maxwell
A very fun combo to explore the caves or even base in the caves. With Abigail’s AOE damage, she’ll make quick work of most of the caves inhabitants. Also, they both don’t suffer from the sanity drain from the caves, so it can be beneficial to base in there, They can explore the Ruins easily with the help of Abigail, and Maxwell’s ability to quickly gather basic resources is a helpful trait for everyone. However, Wendy isn’t good on dealing damage without Abigail and Maxwell is weak on health, so be careful and watch out when Abigail returns to her flower.
Webber and Webber
The more the merrier. Webber actually benefits from having more Webbers on his team, because his special powers are very unique and can be shared with other Webbers. For example, you can have spider nests on your base and no one will get hurt. You all can live just by eating Monster Meat, as Webber has no penalty for eating them. Also, pigs and neutral mobs hate you all, so no one has to bother making some pig houses, and everyone can smash their houses and benefit heavily from their drops, such as Pig Skin, which can be used to craft some Football Helmets or even Ham Bats. Expect to have plenty Silk, Monster Meat and Spider Glands on this one.
Wolfgang and Wigfrid
Pretty straightforward combo. You might need some extra food on this one, but it’s not a problem, because you two are going to demolish any monster that drops food. With Wigfrid’s Battle Spear being a huge advantage in the early game, and her helmet’s usefulness extending even to the late game, you are going to win a lot of battles.
Nice Combos
These are the amazing combos which can carry you to day 500 alone. But, you can get even better than those! Keep on reading. Soon we will reach the “Rank S Combos“.Wigfrid and Warly
Warly and Wigfrid is a great team combination for a couple of great reasons. First of all, Warly has a crockpot right on the start of the game. He can solve Wigfrid’s early game hunger problems by making some meatballs for her, as she starts with some Meat. Second, Warly has a lot of good recipes to fill her belly, such as the Bone Soup and the Moqueca. Third, he can make a Grinding Mill to make some Garlic Powder, a seasoning which can be added into a crock pot dish to give a 33% damage resistance for 4 minutes to anyone who eats it. If you combine this with Wigfrid’s helmet, a Log Suit, and her natural damage resistance, she can tank hits like crazy. Also consider the Chilli Flakes, which boost damage, and the
Volt Goat Chaud-Froid, a dish which also boosts damage.
Wormwood and Wurt
Oh the veggies. They’re coming. Wurt’s inability to eat meat is simply negated by Wormwood’s ability to plant seeds right on the dirt without the need of a Basic Farm or an Advanced Farm. Simply gather the seeds on the early game, and when you find a good spot for the base, plant ’em all and do whatever you want with them. Get a Dragonpie and you’re set for life, just start to multiply the seeds. Additionally, Wormwood can keep the meats all for himself, as Wurt cannot eat them, but Wurt can keep all the healing food for herself, as Wormwood cannot benefit from healing food. Also, consider stacking food for Winter, because the farming won’t work, and try to make a shovel as early as possible, so you can pick up a lot of berrybushes for Spring.
Wortox and Webber
As Webber, Wortox can go along with you on your journeys to farm some spiders, and he can farm some Souls for himself. Also, you are going to need food only for Webber most of the time, because Wortox basically only eats his Souls, thus needing less crockpots, and Webber can enjoy his monster meat for himself alone. In this combo, health won’t be a problem at all, with all the Spider Glands and Souls. Remember you’re both monsters, so Pig Houses can be smashed freely for resources, as I said on the Webber+Webber combo. Also, Webber drops 2 souls instead of 1 when he dies. I don’t think this will be useful, but it’s better to know that anyways. This combo is amazing for spelunking the Caves and even the Ruins.
Woodie and Warly
Woodie benefits greatly from Warly, both on Woodie’s Moose form and on his Werebeaver form. With Warly’s Grinding Mill, he can make some Honey Crystals and put it on some crockpot dish. When the seasoned dish is eaten, they double the player’s effectiveness in mining, chopping, hammering and gnawing. The effect lasts half a day. This means, if you eat a seasoned dish as Woodie right before you transform into Werebeaver, you will just need 2 hits into a boulder or tree to knock it down. This is extremely good for resource gathering, obviously. But it doesn’t stop here. With Warly’s other seasoning, Garlic Powder, he can apply it to a crockpot dish to get 33% damage resistance on anyone who eats it. That means, if Woodie eats the seasoned dish and transforms into the Moose, he’s going to upgrade his already good 90% damage resistance. This is extra helpful due to the fact Moose Woodie cannot wear armor.
Wormwood and Wickerbottom
Wormwood and Wickerbottom is an exceptional combination, but gets pretty overshadowed by Wickerbottom’s other team combos, such as Wicker+Wolfgang and Wicker+WX78. An obvious perk to this combination is Wickerbottom’s ability to instantly grow any crop that Wormwood plants, but there’s more than that. Wormwood’s disadvantage to not be able to heal from beneficial foods can be countered by Wickerbottom’s ease to craft Honey Poultice, which can heal Wormwood for 30 HP each. Also, as Wickerbottom usually tends to craft a shovel and dig a lot of plants, this can be useful for recovering Wormwood’s sanity. An extra little perk, Wormwood can help Wickerbottom craft her Applied Horticulture book in bigger amounts, because he’s going to have a lot of Manure and Seeds.
S Tier Combos
We’re on the final of the list, but the best combos are here. Most of them have Warly and Wickerbottom, two amazing support characters.Wolfgang and Wickerbottom
This is one of the most classic combos in all of Don’t Starve Together, and for a lot of reasons. Wickerbottom can easily farm infinite amounts of Berries and Farm crops, which Wolfgang appreciates way too much, due to his Mighty form. Wolfgang’s combat abilities also will get you a lot of Meat food, which can be combined with the berries or veggies to stack an absurd amount of Meatballs, Pierogis or Meaty Stew. This is also an amazing team for exploring the Ruins, due to the fact you are going to have a lot of healing food and items, which can and will help you down there. Also, due to Wickerbottom’s sanity problems, you may have a lot of Nightmare Fuel, which can be used to make extremely powerful tools for Wolfgang, such as the Dark Sword. This is one of the most powerful team combinations in Don’t Starve.
Wormwood and Warly
Wormwood and Warly is an extremely powerful team combination, it’s like they were made for each other. Wormwood’s ability to plant crops on the ground without the need of an Farm is simply amazing with Warly. Warly can and will make great use of all the crops Wormwood gets, being able to cook very good recipes extremely easily, such as the Moqueca and Creamy Potato Purée. Also, Wormwood’s ability to pick Cactuses with his husk without the damage penalty is exceptional, since it makes yet another great filler for Warly’s recipes. An extra perk is the Grim Galette, the only dish in all of Don’t Starve which can heal Wormwood, which is exclusive to Warly’s crockpot. It’s relatively easy to cook and a perk not to be ignored.
Wickerbottom and WX-78
This is THE team. One of Don’t Starve Together most broken combos is here. Wickerbottom and WX-78 is simply amazing because their perks and weaknesses complement each other’s. An example, Wickerbottom hates spoiled food and has a penalty for eating them, but WX-78 can eat them without any penalty, so managing food will be even easier than it already is, due to Wickerbottom’s book Applied Horticulture ability to create infinite amounts of Berries and more. The best perk in this combo is Wickerbottom’s book The End is Nigh!, which, upon use, summons 12 lightning strikes. If you combine this with the WX-78 perk to Overcharge upon getting striked by lightning, he can become Overcharged for days upon days, because the effects stack. WX-78 will run faster, glow in the dark and become immune to Freezing for extreme amounts of time. This team is also amazing for exploring the Ruins, and it’s also reccomended to do so, because WX-78 will benefit HEAVILY with the gears down there.
Wolfgang and Warly
An extremely powerful and broken combo. You might need some extra food on this one, but this will be probably the only price to pay for this amazing combination. Warly’s ability to create seasonings for his crockpot dishes is amazing itself, but when combined with Wolfgang, it’s nuts. The first we’re going to talk about is the Garlic Powder, a seasoning which can be applied into a dish to give 33% damage resistance to anyone who eats it. This obviously is very powerful, but probably the least useful one for Wolfgang, amazingly enough. The next one is the Salt Crystals, a seasoning which improves the healing of the healing food selected. This, combined with a couple of Pierogis, which are pretty easy to make, will be a great help for Wolfgang’s battles. The last seasoning, but definitely not least, is the Chilli Flakes. When applied to a dish, it boosts damage dealt by 20%, which obviously is simply amazing with Wolfgang. But there’s more! If you cook an Volt Goat Chaud-Froid, one of Warly’s exclusive dishes, it will make Wolfgang’s attacks create electric sparks, which grants an 1.5x boost to his strength, or 2.5x to wet targets. Combine this dish with Chilli flakes, a Dark Sword, and Wolfgang’s mighty form, he’s going to deal around 250 damage each hit, or even more.
